Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Gerry Mcconnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Niego Hermano!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hermano.
Hermano tries to move to mount but Mcconnell blocks the move with his legs.

Mcconnell wants to get back to his feet but Hermano drags him back down.

Hermano thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mcconnell tries to lock up and control but Hermano gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hermano postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mcconnell looks a forlorn figure.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hermano throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcconnell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hermano is in Mcconnell's guard.
Hermano is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Mcconnell can't keep his opponent in guard - Hermano advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mcconnell wants to sweep but Hermano has passed to side control!
Hermano is looking to take a break and control but Mcconnell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hermano tries for a kimura but Mcconnell is defending well.

Hermano cracks Mcconnell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Mcconnell tries to reverse the position but Hermano maintains control.

Hermano cracks Mcconnell with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
