Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Newell!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newell scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Money has a takedown stuffed.
Money swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Newell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Money keeping full guard, as Newell tries to pass.
Newell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Money looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Money is pulling down on Newell's head to control his posture.

Money escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Newell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

I looks like Newell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Money is looking for a triangle but Newell pushes his legs off easily.
Newell lands a couple of elbows.
Newell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Money is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Money had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Newell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Money Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Newell's back instead.

Money is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Newell has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Cash Money seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Newell turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Newell manages to end up in side control.
The referee asks Newell politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Newell prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well Newell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
