The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Adkins wants to clinch.
Adkins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Adkins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Adkins wants to break the clinch but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia tries to throw a body punch but Adkins avoids it by throwing Garcia back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Garcia makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Adkins drops down looking for an ankle pick but Garcia pulls his leg out and moves away.

Garcia lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Adkins backwards.
It looks like Johnathon Adkins has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Garcia pushes Adkins against the cage. Garcia is working some dirty boxing. Garcia pushes off with a quick right hook! Adkins goes down! Adkins tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Garcia moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
