Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Von Erich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Von Erich has chosen I always feel like somebody is watching me as his entrance music. Kevin Von Erich will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin Von Erich!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Connor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Connor postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Von Erich is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Connor, into his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Connor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Von Erich's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Connor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Von Erich swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Von Erich is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Von Erich connects with a nice short shot to Connor's temple.

Von Erich looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Connor with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Connor stalks Von Erich and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Von Erich's face. Von Erich staggers backwards, shaken.
Von Erich tries to bum rush Connor with a series of wild strikes but Connor uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Connor tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Von Erich can't break the clinch.
Connor is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Von Erich's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Connor counters with a nice double leg into side control. Von Erich won't be happy with that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Von Erich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Von Erich fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Connor looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Von Erich working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Connor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Connor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Von Erich is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
