Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michel Teló (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacks Sole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teló kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Michel Telo - Ai se eu te pego. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sole throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Teló counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Teló throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Teló is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Jacks Sole has been cut.
Sole has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Teló steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sole.
A nice inside leg kick there by Teló. That's going to slow Sole down.
Teló throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Sole counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Sole counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Teló thinking.
Teló lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sole's sensitive parts.
Sole swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Teló throws a series of punches but Sole avoids them all with ease.

Teló looks to throw the jab but Sole is out of range.

Sole throws a leg kick but Teló checks it.
Teló fires out a quick counter leg kick but Sole just manages to avoid it.

We've been hearing reports that Teló has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Teló tried to score with a low kick but Sole checks it.
A little jabbing left from Sole on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Jacks Sole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice body kick there by Sole.
Teló scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Teló is looking to slow Sole down with leg kicks.
Sole lands a nice looking body kick.
Teló moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Teló appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Sole counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Teló is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Sole moves out of range as Teló throws a body kick.
Sole is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Teló with a body shot.

enabling Sole to counter with a crisp jab.

Teló shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sole's guard.
Sole controls Teló momentarily but Teló frees himself.
Teló wants to pass the guard but Sole is keeping the position.

Sole wants to stand and escape but Teló is having none of it.
Sole is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Teló postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sole is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Teló, into his guard.


Teló had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sole defends it easily.
Teló has control of Sole's left arm, preventing Sole from doing any damage.

Sole avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Teló seems keen to control Sole's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sole trying to control the position from guard on top but Teló is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Teló working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Sole has passed into half guard!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Michel Teló will probably get the nod.

Sole tries to bum rush Teló with a series of wild strikes but Teló uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Teló misses with a hook. Sole ducked under it nicely.
Teló walks into a jab.
Teló throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Sole steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Teló.
Teló tried to score with a low kick but Sole checks it.
Teló throws a head kick that misses
and Sole counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Teló takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Teló tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A jab from Sole finds it's way through Teló's defenses.
Michel Teló seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Michel Teló has been cut.
A slow jab from Teló misses its intended target.
Sole lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Sole has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Teló finds it's way round the side to connect with Sole's head.
Sole uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Sole takes a swing at Teló's ribcage but misses.
Teló ducks under a wild hook from Sole.
Sole throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Whack! Sole lands a heavy head kick that drops Teló. The ref tackles Sole to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Teló was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Jacks Sole!
