PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Longworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinnie Longworth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Patton!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longworth fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Longworth scores with the left hand. Patton knows he should have avoided that one.
Longworth throws out a leg kick but Patton moves out of range and Longworth only half commits.

Patton gets caught flat footed, as Longworth shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Patton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Longworth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Longworth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Patton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Longworth's guard.


Longworth is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Patton is aware though and is defending well.

Longworth has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Patton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
