Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinbad Baba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baba is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: King of Seven Seas. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kobashi throws a leg kick that is checked
and Baba counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kobashi thinking.
Kobashi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Baba misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kobashi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Baba ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Baba fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Baba blocks a low kick nicely.
Baba cracks Kobashi with a right hand to the side of the head.
A nice leg kick lands there from Baba.
Baba throws a big shot that misses.
Kobashi seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looked like Kobashi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kobashi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baba manages to avoid it.

and Kobashi counters with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baba throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
A combination from Baba does no damage.

Baba's corner calls for a 1-2. Baba obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Baba is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kobashi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Kobashi is looking to control Baba's arms but Baba gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kobashi has his back to the cage.
Baba can't find room to land a body shot as Kobashi controls the action.

Kobashi scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Kobashi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baba throws a right hand that misses
and Kobashi counters with a head kick.
Kobashi misses with a low kick.
Baba now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Kobashi moves away from the strike by Baba.
Baba throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

and Baba counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice leg kick lands there from Kobashi.

Good leg kick by Kobashi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Sloppy strikes from Kobashi. Those never looked like landing.

Sinbad Baba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kobashi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Baba.
Baba uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kobashi.
Baba connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sinbad Baba will probably get the nod.

Kobashi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Baba connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kobashi scrambles back to his feet.

and Kobashi counters with a huge left! Baba is in big trouble! He's backing up but Kobashi isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Baba from any more damage. A dominating finish by Kobashi!
