The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Axelson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Axelson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stackhouse manages to avoid it.
Horst Axelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stackhouse is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Axelson is just riding it out for now. Stackhouse eventually gives up the hold.

Axelson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Stackhouse closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Axelson to the mat! Axelson manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
