Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Chat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamal Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, El Chat!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chat gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Morris counters by clinching up.
Morris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Chat looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Morris is stalling here.
Chat wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Morris has him pressed against the cage.

Morris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chat tries to close the distance and clinch but Morris swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Morris attempts a counter takedown but Chat avoids it well and moves away.

Chat decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Morris makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Chat misses with a double jab

and Morris counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morris grinds an elbow into Chat's temple.
Chat on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Morris works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Morris cracks Chat with a big elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morris decides to stand back up.
No luck for Chat with that takedown attempt.
Jamal Morris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Chat.

and Morris counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chat won't be happy with that.

Morris has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Chat scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Morris leaves Chat with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chat changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Morris tries to avoid it but Chat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Morris to the ground. Morris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Chat fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Morris looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chat tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Morris counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Morris is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Morris distracts Chat with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Chat is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Morris with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Morris decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Chat throws a leg kick that is checked

and Morris counters with a takedown into side control.
Morris controls the position from side control.
Morris lands a few punches from side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Chat is trying to buck Morris off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chat shoots and misses

and Morris counters by moving into the clinch.

Morris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
El Chat is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Chat walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Nice takedown defense from Morris. No joy for Chat on that attempt.

Morris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chat was covering up waiting for the punch and Morris finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Morris's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

It seemed like Chat was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Morris decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chat's guard.

Morris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chat can do to turn this around?

Morris keeps the fight on the outside.
As Chat tries to get set, Morris tries to push him back and clinch up but Chat manages to avoid the attempt.

Morris feints and as Chat raises his hands in defense, Morris changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Morris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chat on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Morris enables Chat to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Morris manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Morris - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Chat throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Chat shoots in but Morris avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Chat takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Morris counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Morris lands an elbow inside.
Chat looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Morris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chat tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Morris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chat throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Morris throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Chat throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Morris's waist but Morris gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chat off to one side.

A looping hook to the body misses from Morris. Chat does a little dance to reset his feet.

Morris pulls Chat into guard.

Morris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chat can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Chat drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Morris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chat has Morris in his guard.

Morris works over Chat with some ground and pound from guard.
Morris controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Morris with a nice head shot there.
Chat wants to stand but Morris is controlling the position.
Chat trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Morris decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Chat, up you get!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chat fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Morris lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Morris tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chat defends well and Morris ends up having to push Chat into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Morris uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Morris avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chat is looking to clinch.
Morris tries to counter with a takedown but Chat is quick to defend against it.

Morris moves into range and clinches up with Chat.
El Chat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jamal Morris is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Chat tries a knee to the head but Morris blocks it.

Well Morris has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
