Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Berg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucio Spartalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Berg comes to the cage accompanied by "Psycho Killer" by the Talking Heads. Niko Berg is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartalainen lands with an uppercut that bounces Berg off the cage and back into rage.
Berg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spartalainen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Berg throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Spartalainen checks the leg kick.
Spartalainen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Spartalainen is pushing down on Berg's leg trying to pass to half guard. Berg is fighting to maintain full guard but Spartalainen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Spartalainen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Berg sees it coming and defends easily.
Spartalainen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Spartalainen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Berg is trying to stand back up but Spartalainen is controlling him

Spartalainen uses his free foot to push down on Berg's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Berg.
Spartalainen working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Spartalainen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Berg turns into him and now he's in Spartalainen's guard.

Spartalainen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Berg is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Spartalainen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Berg's back instead.
Berg is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Spartalainen gets his way!

Spartalainen is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Berg has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Spartalainen thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Berg is having to fend off submission attempts from Spartalainen, who is looking to sink in the choke. Spartalainen doesn't have the hooks in though and Berg manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Berg is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

I really don't envy Spartalainen right now.
Berg keeps control of the position easily here as Spartalainen tries to buck him off.

Berg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Spartalainen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Berg turns into him and now he's in Spartalainen's guard.

Spartalainen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Berg's guard. Nice work there by Spartalainen.
Spartalainen postures up in Berg's guard and throws a big left but Berg blocks it.
Berg wants to stand up but Spartalainen is controlling him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Niko Berg.
I think Berg has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
