The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagdy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Wagdy really is a fat lump.
Slogan loads up on a big right hand but Wagdy slips the punch.
Mustafa Wagdy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wagdy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Slogan pinned against the cage. Slogan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Wagdy or perhaps it was just good defense by Slogan, which made it look bad.

Wagdy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wagdy is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Slogan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Wagdy has control of Slogan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Slogan regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Slogan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wagdy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wagdy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Slogan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Slogan shrugs it off.
