Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Regulus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Regulus Gracie has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Frank Walsh's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Regulus Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie avoids a kick to the body.
Gracie is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Gracie misses the jab.
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Walsh's waist but Walsh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
Gracie misses with a body shot
and Walsh counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Walsh connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Gracie misses with a body shot.
Gracie moves out of range of the body kick from Walsh.
Gracie looks for a takedown but Walsh sprawls well.

enabling Walsh to counter with a crisp jab.
Frank Walsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Regulus Gracie.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walsh rushes Gracie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Walsh as Gracie tries to tie him up.
Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gracie tries to throw a body punch but Walsh avoids it by throwing Gracie back against the cage.
Walsh has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gracie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Gracie lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gracie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Walsh has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gracie wants to control but Walsh is keeping him busy.
Gracie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Walsh defending well though.
Walsh won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Walsh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Walsh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie is trying to control. Walsh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gracie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Walsh is defending well.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Walsh is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Walsh is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.

Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Walsh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Walsh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gracie is just content to waste time from the top position. Walsh takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Gracie trying to control but Walsh is working from the bottom.
Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Walsh is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Walsh is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Walsh doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Walsh makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Walsh.
Walsh keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Regulus Gracie dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Walsh looking to score a takedown here. Gracie is defending well but Walsh drives through and ends up in Gracie's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walsh lands a couple of elbows.
Walsh tries to stand but Gracie is controlling from the bottom.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walsh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walsh manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gracie controls Walsh momentarily but Walsh frees himself.
Walsh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gracie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Walsh is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gracie.

Walsh creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Gracie seems a little lost for a moment, as Walsh dominates the positioning.
Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Walsh lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Walsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walsh is thwarting Gracie's attempts to control the position.
Gracie wants to get back to full guard but Walsh has passed into side control.
Gracie is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Walsh controls the position.
Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gracie trying to hold on to Walsh's head to control him but Walsh postures up.
Gracie tries to roll over but Walsh keeps him under control.
Gracie is looking to control Walsh's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?

Walsh is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gracie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Walsh gets to his feet - Gracie follows without any prompting.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Walsh.
Walsh pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gracie back to the cage. Walsh follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.
Gracie misses with a hook to the body
and Walsh counters with a stiff right hand.
Gracie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Walsh.
Walsh lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Walsh misses with a kick to the body.
Gracie fails with the takedown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Walsh moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Regulus Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walsh sizes up Gracie with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Walsh is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie throws a series of punches but Walsh avoids them all with ease.
Walsh seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Walsh dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
Gracie sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Gracie will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Walsh looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Gracie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Walsh counters with a two punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walsh cracks Gracie with a good jab.
Walsh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.
Walsh tries to clinch up.
Walsh is looking to clinch.

Gracie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walsh swivels and escapes.
Frank Walsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Regulus Gracie.
Walsh defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie.
Gracie walks into a stiff left hand from Walsh.

Walsh clinches.
Walsh has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gracie avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gracie can't get the takedown.
Gracie is working for takedown but Walsh is calmly controlling the position for now.
Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Walsh drags the fight down to the ground.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Walsh keeps moving.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Walsh is keeping the position.
Walsh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

Gracie trying to control but Walsh is working from the bottom.

Gracie pushes down on Walsh's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Walsh is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Walsh is defending well.
Gracie slows the pace down in half guard.
Walsh slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Walsh looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Walsh showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Walsh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
