Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Isidro Patel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Gonon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patel closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gonon quickly recovers to half guard.
Gonon is looking to control Patel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gonon avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonon wants to control from the top but Patel keeps moving.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Gonon controlling the positon.
Patel turns into Gonon and is now in his guard.
Gonon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Gonon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Patel defends it easily.
Patel is working Gonon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gonon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Patel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Patel. No joy for Gonon on that attempt.
Patel wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gonon enables Patel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gonon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Patel connects with a nice short shot to Gonon's temple.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gonon is looking to reverse the position.

Isidro Patel dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Patel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Patel stands up from Gonon's guard - Patel perhaps looking for a knockout.

Gonon looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Patel has picked Gonon up and slammed him! Gonon can't keep hold of the triangle and Patel manages to pass to side control!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Isidro Patel.
