Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan McHeartley!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McHeartley closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Slater did well to prevent McHeartley getting side control.

McHeartley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Slater sees it coming and defends easily.
Slater is looking to escape.

Slater looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Slater might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Slater is looking for a sweep. McHeartley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Slater is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McHeartley pulls his head out easily.

McHeartley is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Slater doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McHeartley.
Slater could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Slater is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McHeartley pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McHeartley lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.


It looks like Quinton Slater has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McHeartley has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Slater tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A big strike lands for McHeartley! That's really hurt Slater and he's turned his back - McHeartley keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! McHeartley jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan McHeartley!
