Horrible takedown attempt by Moutiniho or perhaps it was just good defense by Brigante, which made it look bad.

Moutiniho is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Brigante throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Moutiniho throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Moutiniho shoots in for a double leg but Brigante sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Brigante dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Moutiniho. That did some damage!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Moutiniho enables Brigante to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Moutiniho manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Moutiniho manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been hearing good reports from Brigante's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
