Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 48 - 24 - 0, fighting out of London, Ethelbart Takahashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marko Hanttonen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takahashi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Takahashi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hanttonen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Takahashi throws out the jab.
Hanttonen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Hanttonen instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Takahashi's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hanttonen pushes Takahashi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Takahashi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Hanttonen throws a knee to the head but misses.
Hanttonen tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Takahashi avoiding damage as Hanttonen throws knees to the body.
Hanttonen is pushing Takahashi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Hanttonen tries to work over Takahashi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Takahashi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hanttonen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hanttonen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takahashi was well out of range. Poor timing from Hanttonen.
Ethelbart Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hanttonen wants to clinch up but Takahashi keeps it at a distance.

Takahashi scores with a shot to the body.
Hanttonen lands with an uppercut that bounces Takahashi off the cage and back into range.
Hanttonen moves forwards but Takahashi connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Takahashi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hanttonen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Takahashi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hanttonen.
Takahashi dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hanttonen. That did some damage!
Hanttonen tries a head kick but it misses.
Hanttonen loads up on a big right hand but Takahashi slips the punch.

The fighters circle momentarily. Takahashi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Takahashi fakes the leg kick and cracks Hanttonen in the body.

That has opened up Marko Hanttonen's cut even more.
Hanttonen throws a sloppy body shot
and Takahashi counters with a nice uppercut.
Hanttonen on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Takahashi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hanttonen.
Hanttonen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


The cut above Marko Hanttonen's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hanttonen misses with a hook. Takahashi ducked under it nicely.
Takahashi tests Hanttonen's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Takahashi with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hanttonen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Takahashi misses with an uppercut.
Takahashi is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

The fighters circle momentarily. Hanttonen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Hanttonen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Takahashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Takahashi checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Takahashi swings for the body but Hanttonen moves out of range.
Hanttonen thinks about the counter body kick.
Hanttonen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Takahashi misses with a low kick.
Hanttonen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Takahashi checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Takahashi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hanttonen was well out of range. Poor timing from Takahashi.
Takahashi swats away the attempt to clinch by Hanttonen.
Takahashi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hanttonen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hanttonen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Takahashi.
Hanttonen bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Takahashi dodges the punch combination from Hanttonen.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hanttonen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takahashi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hanttonen wants to clinch.
Hanttonen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hanttonen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Takahashi has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Takahashi and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Hanttonen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hanttonen misses with a double jab.

Hanttonen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Hanttonen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Takahashi blocks it with crossed arms.

Takahashi breaks from the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Takahashi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


Marko Hanttonen's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Takahashi looks to land a left hand but Hanttonen moved out of range nicely.
Hanttonen misses with a hook.
Takahashi quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Hanttonen thuds a left hand into Takahashi's body.
Takahashi misses with a low kick as Hanttonen jumps back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethelbart Takahashi dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Marko Hanttonen's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Takahashi misses with a leg kick.
Hanttonen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Takahashi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hanttonen.
Takahashi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hanttonen's head.
Hanttonen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hanttonen connects with a high kick.
Takahashi misses with a hook. Hanttonen ducked under it nicely.
Hanttonen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Hanttonen tries to land a leg kick but Takahashi saw it coming and moves away.
Takahashi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Takahashi checks a leg kick.
Hanttonen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Takahashi is looking to counter with head kicks.
The fighters circling - Hanttonen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Takahashi feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Hanttonen looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Hanttonen closes the distance and clinches.
Takahashi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hanttonen backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Marko Hanttonen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Our winner, Ethelbart Takahashi, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
