The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Shoe is predictable there
and The Dane connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The Dane is looking to clinch.

We've been told by The Dane's head coaches at Brutal Force Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Shoe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but The Dane manages to avoid it.
Shoe has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
The Dane shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Shoe eats them both and turns towards The Dane to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Shoe pushes The Dane away with a front kick.
The Dane digs a good hook to Shoe's body.

The Dane tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shoe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shoe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The Dane swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Shoe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by The Dane.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Dane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shoe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and The Dane counters with a three punch combo that has Shoe backing up. Shoe nods at The Dane to acknowledge the strikes.

Shoe seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and The Dane counters with a crisp one two that drops Shoe! The Dane thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Shoe to his feet! Shoe is in big trouble!
Shoe gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! The Dane gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Shoe is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
