Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Zup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zup darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Zup winds up and cracks Paris with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Paris moves into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zup stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paris swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Paris is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zup is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Zup takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Zup on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Paris.

Paris is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Zup has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Paris has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Zup taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Paris doesn't care though - he's delighted!
