Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Boshtok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ode Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boshtok comes to the cage accompanied by Jump Around M*thaf*cka. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuri Boshtok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 4, fighting out of London, Ode Jokinen!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boshtok on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jokinen feints and then cracks Boshtok's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Boshtok down.
Boshtok throws a lazy right hand but Jokinen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jokinen checks a leg kick.
Boshtok looks for a takedown but Jokinen sprawls well.
Jokinen counters with a body kick.
Jokinen misses with a straight right.
Boshtok takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Jokinen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Boshtok. That did some damage!
A looping hook to the body misses from Jokinen. Boshtok does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jokinen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Good leg kick by Jokinen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Boshtok shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jokinen sprawls well. Jokinen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boshtok gets slowly back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been hearing that Boshtok has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Boshtok avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jokinen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boshtok's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boshtok distracts Jokinen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jokinen controls Boshtok momentarily but Boshtok frees himself.

Boshtok has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Boshtok is nestled in close to Jokinen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jokinen is looking to control Boshtok's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jokinen avoid being mounted?

Boshtok seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jokinen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jokinen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Boshtok is in close to Jokinen's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Boshtok is working Jokinen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Boshtok. Jokinen shrugs it off though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jokinen stalks Boshtok and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Boshtok's face. Boshtok staggers backwards, shaken.

Boshtok attempts a counter takedown but Jokinen avoids it well and moves away.
Boshtok ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jokinen moves away.

Boshtok just misses with a punch to the body.
Boshtok takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Boshtok throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jokinen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boshtok but Boshtok pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jokinen lands a jab to the nose.
Boshtok takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jokinen jabs Boshtok to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jokinen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Boshtok.

and Jokinen counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Jokinen swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Boshtok.

Ode Jokinen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jokinen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
