Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Kyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cody Paris!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, John Mangel and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyle moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Kyle gets a double leg takedown into Paris's guard.
Kyle postures up in Paris's guard and throws a big left but Paris blocks it.
Kyle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paris works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kyle throws a big right hand that misses.
Paris has Kyle pulled in close to control his posture.
Kyle wanted to stand there but Paris had control of the position.
Kyle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kyle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

It looks like Cody Paris has been cut.

Kyle drives through with a takedown into Paris's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Paris has his foot on Kyle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kyle works his way back into a safe position though.
Kyle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Paris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Paris takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Kyle looking to score a takedown here. Paris is defending well but Kyle drives through and ends up in Paris's guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Paris utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Paris gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kyle to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Sam Kyle dominated that round.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kyle wants to clinch up but Paris keeps it at a distance.
Kyle slaps away a takedown attempt from Paris, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Paris counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kyle!

Paris is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kyle is looking for a sweep. Paris is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Paris is looking to take a break and control but Kyle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Paris might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kyle haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Kyle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Paris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kyle with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Paris seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Paris stops Kyle from getting back to his feet.
Paris scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Paris throws a jab when Kyle was well out of range.
Kyle is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Paris can do to turn this around?
Kyle tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Paris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A head kick misses from Kyle.

Kyle shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Paris manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kyle looking to sit in guard and control but Paris gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Paris is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Paris wants to pass the guard but Kyle is keeping the position.

Paris keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kyle's head.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Kyle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paris can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kyle creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Paris sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Paris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Paris creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kyle sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Paris is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kyle's shoulder. That is not cool.
You can see the frustration on Kyle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Paris is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kyle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
