Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaleva Vettenranta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Long fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vettenranta manages to avoid it.
Vettenranta misses with a takedown attempt
and Long counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Long fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Vettenranta tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Long swivels and escapes.
Long stalks Vettenranta and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Vettenranta's face. Vettenranta staggers backwards, shaken.

Vettenranta feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vettenranta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Long swivels though and keeps the full guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Vettenranta working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Long has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vettenranta is working away from the top position though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Vettenranta lands a nice short elbow.
Long knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vettenranta on the ground.
Vettenranta frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Long tries to lock up and control but Vettenranta gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Vettenranta postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Long looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vettenranta is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Long to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Long shrugs it off.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vettenranta is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Long is surviving well by controlling Vettenranta's body position as best he can.
Vettenranta takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
