PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Malcoms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilbert Tash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tash has chosen Seven drunken nights as his entrance music. Ilbert Tash is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Malcoms !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ilbert Tash!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tash rushes Malcoms and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Malcoms trying to land knees to the body.
Malcoms lands a shoulder strike.
Tash tries a body shot but Malcoms blocks it.
Tash wants a takedown.
Tash takes a shot to the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Malcoms .

Malcoms 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A lazy left from Tash finds it's target.
A slow jab from Malcoms misses its intended target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tash shoots in for a takedown but Malcoms shows good takedown defense.
Tash looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Malcoms gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tash.

Malcoms darts in and clinches Tash up against the cage.
Malcoms tries a body shot but Tash blocks it.
Tash wants to break free but Malcoms has control.

Malcoms throws a head punch that misses.

Tash breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tash throws a looping overhand right but Malcoms ducks down to avoid it.
It looked like Malcoms wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Tash throws a right hand that misses
and Malcoms counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tash rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Malcoms moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Malcoms moves out of range as Tash strikes.

Tash shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Malcoms napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Tash lands a decent elbow from side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malcoms tries to improve position but can't.
Tash working the head with strikes.
Malcoms tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tash wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Tash moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tash is chipping away with strikes.
Tash is staying tight to Malcoms 's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Tash tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Malcoms being controlled for a moment.
Tash grinds an elbow into Malcoms 's temple.

Tash has control of an arm but Malcoms manages to advance to Tash's back!
Malcoms has Tash flattened out and is raining down punches.
Tash is trying to break free.
Tash tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Tash is trying desperately to improve position.
Tash is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Malcoms avoids the attempt from Tash to control.
Malcoms trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Tash regains half guard.
Tash moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Malcoms stopping the sweep attempt from Tash.
Malcoms in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Tash throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Malcoms escapes and throws Tash's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Tash takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ilbert Tash will probably get the nod.
That's time! Malcoms 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Malcoms takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tash throws a combination that misses
and Malcoms counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tash staying out of range there.
Malcoms keeps the fight on the outside.
Malcoms throwing a counter right hand but Tash manages to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Malcoms throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tash missing with a left hand there. Malcoms was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tash is on top in guard.

Tash is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tash jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Malcoms is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tash.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tash closes this distance looking for a takedown but Malcoms circles away.
A quick step to the side and Malcoms tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Tash might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Horrible takedown attempt by Tash or perhaps it was just good defense by Malcoms , which made it look bad.

Malcoms breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tash tries for a takedown but Malcoms circles away easily
and Malcoms counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Daniel Malcoms has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilbert Tash.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Malcoms , as that shot connected.
Tash stuns Malcoms with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Tash throws a right hand that Malcoms ducks under and follows up with a left that Malcoms also avoids with ease.

Malcoms works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Some bone on bone action there as Malcoms checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tash on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Malcoms ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tash moves away.
Tash changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Tash slips under a jab.
Malcoms throws an off balance right hand
and Malcoms takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tash throws a poor cross that misses
letting Malcoms counter with a right hand.
Tash misses with the combination.

And that's the end of the fight!
Daniel Malcoms showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Tash has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
