Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mr Complete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rupert Whiston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Complete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rupert Whiston!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Complete.
The fighters circling - Complete throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Whiston slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Complete tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Complete shoots and misses
letting Whiston counter with a right hand.
Whiston throws a series of punches but Complete avoids them all with ease.
Whiston wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Whiston works over Complete's head and body with a nice combination.
Whiston throws a right and a left that Complete avoids nicely.
It looked like Complete wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Whiston has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Whiston will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Complete fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Whiston has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Complete ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Complete no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Whiston stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Complete swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Whiston prevents Complete from getting back to his feet.
Complete is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Complete is defended easily by Whiston.

A looping hook to the body misses from Whiston. Complete does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rupert Whiston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Complete closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mr Complete overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Complete accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mr Complete will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Whiston looks to score with a jab to the body but Complete is just out of range.
Whiston misses with a looping left.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Complete.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Whiston, as that shot connected.

Complete moves into range and clinches up with Whiston.

Whiston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Whiston misses with a looping left.
Whiston misses with a hook.
Complete tried to counter with a leg kick but Whiston avoided it.
Complete gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Whiston counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Complete fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whiston thows a left - swing and a miss!
Complete wants to clinch but Whiston slips to the side
and Whiston makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Whiston swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Complete avoids the head kick by Whiston.

Complete fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Whiston sprawls well initially but Complete persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Whiston perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Complete is trying to stand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Complete tries to close the distance and clinch but Whiston swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Whiston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rupert Whiston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Whiston has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
