Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bartell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Seth Shannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Bartell!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Bartell.
Bartell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice shot by Bartell.
Bartell throws a right and a left that Shannon avoids nicely.
A cross from Bartell lands.
Bartell shoots in looking for a takedown but Shannon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bartell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bartell throws a push kick but Shannon slaps the foot to one side.
Bartell tries to land a leg kick but Shannon saw it coming and moves away.
Bartell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Seth Shannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Bartell.
Shannon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bartell sprawls well. Bartell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shannon gets slowly back to his feet.
A nice side step and Bartell releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Bartell throws a leg kick

and Shannon moves into the clinch.

Shannon has hold of one of Bartell's legs. Bartell is fighting the takedown attempt but Shannon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Shannon is stalling in the full guard.
Shannon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bartell for as long as he can get away with.
Shannon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shannon won't allow Bartell to get back to his feet.

Shannon stands and steps away. Bartell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bartell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Shannon goes for a double leg but Bartell avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bartell continues to drive forward.

Bartell gets caught napping as Shannon dives in and scores a takedown. Bartell manages to retain guard.

Bartell wants to stand up but Shannon is controlling him.
Bartell looks winded!

Bartell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shannon is controlling him.
Shannon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Shannon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Bartell tries to clinch but Shannon moves out of range.
Shannon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Shannon gets a takedown into half guard.
Bartell is looking to escape.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bartell can do anything to dispel that myth.

Shannon slows the pace down in half guard.

Shannon is looking for a kimura but Bartell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shannon to get the leverage.
Shannon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Shannon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Shannon stands up out of the half guard.
Shannon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bartell's waist but Bartell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shannon off to one side.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bartell gets caught flat footed, as Shannon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bartell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shannon is controlling him.
Bartell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shannon controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Seth Shannon will probably get the nod.
That's time! Shannon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shannon has managed to clinch.
Shannon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bartell's efforts to push away.

Shannon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shannon swats away the attempt to clinch by Bartell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bartell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shannon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bartell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shannon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bartell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bartell shoots for a double leg takedown but Shannon sprawls well. He's pushed Bartell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bartell is breathing heavily.

Shannon continues to stall.

Shannon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shannon is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bartell's shoulder. That is not cool.

Shannon decides to stand back up.
Bartell with a poor takedown

and Shannon moves into the clinch.
Seth Shannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Bartell.

Shannon has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bartell clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Shannon working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Shannon patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Shannon controls the action.
Bartell is trying to get back to his feet but Shannon has full control of the position and if anything, Bartell has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Shannon has good solid back control here.

Shannon looking to break Bartell's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bartell remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shannon will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shannon has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Bartell's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seth Shannon dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Bartell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shannon pinned against the cage. Shannon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A solid body kick from Bartell.
Bartell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shannon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bartell!
Shannon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bartell keeps working.

A lull in the action here as Shannon stalls from top position.

Shannon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Shannon shoots in for a takedown but Bartell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
James Bartell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shannon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Bartell manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Bartell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shannon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bartell's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shannon's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Shannon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shannon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bartell preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bartell wants to stand but Shannon is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shannon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Shannon stands up from Bartell's guard - Shannon perhaps looking for a knockout.

Bartell defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shannon.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Shannon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shannon has a takedown stuffed.
Despite the aggression on Bartell's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Shannon fails with a takedown attempt.
Shannon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Bartell to counter with a crisp jab.

Bartell shoots for a double leg takedown but Shannon sprawls well. He's pushed Bartell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Shannon counters by moving into the clinch.
Shannon has Bartell pressed against the cage.
Bartell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shannon to keep the fight standing.
Shannon is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bartell has Shannon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shannon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to James Bartell.
I think Shannon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
