The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cropp uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smith.
Cropp misses with a jab, cross combination.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smith has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Cropp throws a sloppy head kick
and Cropp takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Karol Cropp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cropp lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Cropp throws a jab but it's blocked by Smith.

Smith throws a looping overhand right but Cropp ducks down to avoid it.
Cropp bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smith's head.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Smith lands a big shot that drops Cropp! Can he finish him?

Cropp is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Cropp had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.

Smith decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cropp, up you get!
Cropp throws a hook but Smith avoids it easily.
Cropp missing with a left hand there. Smith was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Smith feints the counter takedown.
Cropp scores with a punch to the head.
Cropp ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smith is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Cropp moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
