Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Masamichi Yamaji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Artur The Axe!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Axe doesn't manage to clinch there - Yamaji circles away.
Yamaji keeps the fight on the outside.
Yamaji throws a body punch but The Axe moves out of range.
The Axe tries to clinch but Yamaji moves out of range.
Yamaji tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but The Axe was well out of range. Poor timing from Yamaji.
Yamaji looks to land a combination but The Axe avoids it well.
The Axe fails in his attempt to clinch.
The Axe moves in looking to clinch but Yamaji pushes him off.
The Axe tries to clinch there but Yamaji circles away.
Yamaji throws a head kick that The Axe semi-blocks.
It looks like Artur The Axe has been cut.
Yamaji looks for the body kick but The Axe saw that one coming.
Yamaji connects with an inside leg kick.
Artur The Axe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yamaji lands a nice leg kick that just misses The Axe's sensitive parts.
The Axe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Yamaji fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The Axe is looking to clinch but Yamaji is avoiding it.
Yamaji was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
The Axe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yamaji swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Yamaji lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The Axe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yamaji circles away from the clinch attempt
and Yamaji counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! The Axe has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Masamichi Yamaji!
