The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Standfield fails with the takedown
and Ansonen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Ansonen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ansonen leaves Standfield with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marlo Standfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ansonen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Standfield goes for a double leg but Ansonen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ansonen continues to drive forward.
Ansonen swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Standfield fails with the takedown
and Ansonen counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Ansonen counters with a straight right hand.
Standfield takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Standfield shoots for a double leg takedown but Ansonen sprawls well. He's pushed Standfield's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Standfield is breathing heavily.
Standfield goes for a double leg but Ansonen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ansonen continues to drive forward.
Ansonen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Ansonen lands with an uppercut that bounces Standfield off the cage and back into range.

Ansonen throws a hook but Standfield avoids it easily.
Tempe Ansonen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Standfield closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ansonen circles away.
Ansonen looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ansonen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Ansonen cracks Standfield with a right hand to the side of the head.

Ansonen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Standfield sprawling to the canvas! Standfield rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ansonen finish him?!

Standfield is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ansonen lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Standfield head around and knocks him out cold! Ansonen hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
