The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogeira takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Lenin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

and Lenin counters with a left and a right that stings Nogeira.

and Nogeira counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lenin is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nogeira looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Nogeira pushes down on Lenin's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nogeira not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Nogeira is looking to take a break and control but Lenin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lenin takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Lenin is trying to buck Nogeira off.

Nogeira decides to stand back up. Nogeira steps back and let's Lenin get back to his feet.
Ilyich Lenin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nogeira dodges the punch combination from Lenin.
Lenin tries to clinch but Nogeira is having none of it.

Nogeira misses with a takedown attempt - Lenin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ilyich Lenin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Nogeira.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lenin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nogeira has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nogeira and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Lenin circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Nogeira to the canvas! Nogeira doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Lenin keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
