Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barton Webster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christopher Balisi! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balisi throws a body punch but Webster moves out of range. A lazy body kick from Balisi and Webster holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Balisi successfully pulls guard.
Balisi wants to sweep but no luck. Balisi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Webster is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Balisi. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balisi taking punishment in the form of punches.
Balisi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Webster working away. Webster is looking to take a break and control but Balisi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Balisi looks to move to half guard but instead Webster has passed into mount! Damn!
That's one minute gone in the round. Webster controlling his opponent. Webster wants to control the pace but Balisi is squirming around nicely. Webster won't let Balisi get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Webster lands with some strikes. Webster could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Balisi working to try and regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Webster content just to control the position here. Balisi in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Webster sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Balisi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Webster controlling his opponent. Balisi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Webster content just to control the position here. Webster lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Webster looking to control and managing it successfully. Balisi wants to hold on but Webster pushes him away. Balisi is trying desperately to improve position. Balisi wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Balisi can't escape the position.
Balisi keeps trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barton Webster dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Webster lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Balisi moves into range and clinches up with Webster. Balisi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Webster regains guard immediately. Webster manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Balisi manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balisi throws his legs up looking for a submission but Webster uses it to pass to side control.
Balisi is breathing heavily. Balisi is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Webster is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Balisi can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Balisi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Balisi is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Balisi is not content to let Webster control the position. Webster working the ground and pound but Balisi is defending the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Webster cracks Balisi with a big elbow. Webster misses with the ground and pound. Webster landing strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balisi can do anything to dispel that myth. Balisi looking for a sweep but Webster has passed into full mount! Oh no! Webster has control of Balisi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Balisi regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Balisi taking shots to the head. Webster lands a big elbow. Balisi tries to lock up and control but Webster gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Webster trying to control but Balisi is having none of it. Webster with shots to the head and body - Balisi looks very uncomfortable down there. Balisi is looking to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Webster controlling the position easily from mount. Webster scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Balisi?
The referee warns Balisi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Webster controlling the pace for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Webster has hold of Balisi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Balisi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barton Webster dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Webster has closed the distance and engaged Balisi in a clinch.

That is not cool. Balisi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Balisi looks to move to half guard but instead Webster has passed into mount! Damn! Webster working the ground and pound effectively.

Christopher Balisi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Barton Webster is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Webster tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Barton Webster showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Webster, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
