Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jess Blair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danilo Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danilo Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It seemed like Slaughter was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Blair moves in looking to clinch but Slaughter pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blair has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Slaughter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Slaughter! But no joy.

Blair tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slaughter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Slaughter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Slaughter is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Blair rather than just go for the knockout.

Blair gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Blair is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Slaughter is controlling him.
Blair controls Slaughter momentarily but Slaughter frees himself.
Blair will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slaughter is posturing up here but Blair has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Slaughter tries to roll out but it's too tight and Slaughter has to tap! Slick submission there by Blair!
