Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gus Spencer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Paul Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer checks a leg kick nicely.
Hunt jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hunt has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Spencer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hunt moves out of range as Spencer strikes.
Spencer throws a series of strikes that have Hunt backpedaling.
Spencer throws an off balance right hand
and Hunt counters with a leg kick.
Hunt takes one on the button.
Spencer loads up on a big right hand but Hunt slips the punch.
Hunt avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Spencer throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hunt counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Hunt scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Gus Spencer has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunt lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Spencer takes a swing at Hunt's ribcage but misses.
Spencer misses with a wild body shot.
Spencer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hunt.
Hunt slips a jab from Spencer.
Hunt scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Spencer doesn't seem bothered though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hunt slips under a jab.
Hunt lands a glancing blow to the side of Spencer's head.
Hunt throws a shot to the body.

Hunt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hunt showed some decent athleticism there.

Hunt in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Spencer tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Hunt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Paul Hunt!
Paul Hunt is the new middleweight champion!
In his post fight interview, Paul Hunt started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
