Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taz Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Kim !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Taz Barry!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping body kick lands there for Kim .
Kim tries to land a front kick but Barry steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kim sets himself, and Barry steps forward looking for the clinch! Kim avoids it this time.
Kim keeps Barry at a distance using the push kick.
Kim throws a solid leg kick but Barry takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kim .
Kim walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Barry checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Barry has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kim .
Sloppy strikes from Kim . Those never looked like landing.
Barry shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barry showed some decent athleticism there.
Kim 's coaches at White's ELITE Fitness Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kim throws a head kick but Barry moves out of range.
Dan Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kim lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kim throws a shot from downtown. Barry moves away and avoids it.
Barry is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Barry ducks under a wild hook from Kim .
Barry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kim manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kim lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kim throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barry.
Barry avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Barry counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Barry wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.
Kim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barry on the ground.

Barry drops back looking for a leg! Kim is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kim manages to kick Barry off! Barry jumps back into Kim 's guard.

Barry's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barry lands with a punch from half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Barry lands a nice short elbow.
Barry is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

A close round but Taz Barry will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kim tries a head kick but it misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kim lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Barry has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Barry and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Barry drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kim defends it well.
Kim feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Barry's calf.
Kim throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kim tries a head kick but it misses.

Barry has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kim uses from the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barry is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
