The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten jabs Weathers right on the nose. Weathers blinks but takes it well.
Rutten throws a right and a left that Weathers avoids nicely.
Weathers is looking to clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rutten enables Weathers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rutten manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rutten is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Weathers is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rutten is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Weathers is controlling him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weathers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Weathers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rutten manages to work his way to half guard, despite Weathers's best efforts.
Rutten has his hands clasped together around Weathers's back. He's all about the action.
Weathers should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
