PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Tuncer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wesley Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuncer comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Get In My Way. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tuncer clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the cage.
Tuncer tries to pull guard but Smith holds him up against the cage and eventually Tuncer drops back down to his feet.
Smith misses with a punch to the body.
Tuncer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smith smiles and moves away.
Smith moves away from the strike by Tuncer.
Tuncer staying out of range there.
Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tuncer.
A left lands for Smith.
Tuncer wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.
Tuncer looks to clinch
and Smith counters with a one-two to the body.
Tuncer misses with a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
The crowd cheers as Smith lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tuncer doesn't seem phased though.
Tuncer blocks a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tuncer is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Tuncer shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Tuncer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tuncer goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smith continues to drive forward.
Smith takes a swing at Tuncer's ribcage but misses.
Tuncer staying out of range there.
Tuncer throws a quick counter kick to the body but Smith avoids it.
Smith misses with a wild combination.
Smith works the jab nicely.
Jab, jab by Smith - just one landing.
Smith sizes up Tuncer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Smith connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Tuncer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tuncer somewhat.
A right-left combo lands from Smith.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith cracks Tuncer with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Smith misses with a hook. Tuncer ducked under it nicely.
Wesley Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tuncer.
Tuncer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tuncer there as he acknowledges the shot.
Smith jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Smith is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Tuncer had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Tuncer thows a leg kick but Smith checks it
and Smith counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Tuncer misses with a jab, cross combination.

Tuncer darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.

Tuncer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tuncer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Tuncer persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing.

Tuncer has managed to clinch.
Tuncer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Smith's efforts to push away.

Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tuncer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Tuncer shoots in but no luck this time.
Tuncer on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Tuncer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Tuncer is rocked!
Smith might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Tuncer takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Tuncer is breathing heavily.
Tuncer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Oh Tuncer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith cracks Tuncer on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Tuncer falls backwards against the cage. Smith follows up with more strikes that drop Tuncer to his knees. Smith keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Tuncer! This one is all over!
