Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roman Aguilar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Yagin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roman Aguilar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Yagin!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aguilar shoots for a double leg takedown but Yagin sprawls well. He's pushed Aguilar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Yagin dives in and scores a takedown into Aguilar's guard.
Aguilar wants to stand up but Yagin is controlling him.
Aguilar wants to sweep but no luck.
Aguilar controls Yagin momentarily but Yagin frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yagin lands a couple of elbows.
Aguilar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yagin throws an elbow that misses. Aguilar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yagin's guard. Nice move by Aguilar!

Yagin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aguilar has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Yagin is proving hard to escape from.
Aguilar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Yagin has his foot on Aguilar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Aguilar works his way back into a safe position though.

Aguilar jumps guard but Yagin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Yagin tries to score a body lock takedown but Aguilar shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Aguilar throws a counter high kick but Yagin was just alert enough to avoid it.
Eddie Yagin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yagin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Aguilar defends well and Yagin ends up having to push Aguilar into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Aguilar postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yagin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Aguilar, into his guard.

Aguilar wants to stand and escape but Yagin is having none of it.
Aguilar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yagin manages to get himself to full guard.

Yagin is working an open guard so Aguilar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Aguilar counters with a left and a right that stings Yagin.
Aguilar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yagin defends it nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Aguilar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Aguilar moves into range and clinches up with Yagin.
Aguilar is pressed up against the cage. Yagin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aguilar down to the mat. Aguilar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Aguilar throws a big counter combination but Yagin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Yagin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Aguilar!

Aguilar bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yagin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Aguilar tries to clinch there but Yagin circles away.

Aguilar fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Yagin, pushing him back against the cage.

Aguilar works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Aguilar gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Yagin darts in and clinches Aguilar up against the cage.
Aguilar scores with a shoulder strike.

Yagin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Aguilar effectively controlling the action here.

Aguilar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Aguilar scores with a head kick. Yagin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yagin gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Aguilar takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Aguilar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yagin walks away with a smile on his face. Aguilar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Yagin moves into the clinch successfully.

Aguilar has Yagin pressed against the cage, preventing Yagin from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Aguilar has Yagin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Aguilar pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Yagin tumbling to the mat - Aguilar dives into Yagin's guard.

Yagin pushes Aguilar off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Aguilar counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Yagin is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters circling - Yagin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Aguilar throws a quick counter head kick but Yagin was just out of range.

and Aguilar counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Aguilar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yagin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Yagin closes the distance and pushes Aguilar back into the cage.
Yagin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Aguilar fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Yagin clinches up with Aguilar and pushes him back against the cage.
Aguilar is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Yagin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Aguilar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Yagin has Aguilar pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Aguilar manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yagin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Aguilar holds on and takes a little breather.
Aguilar controls Yagin momentarily but Yagin frees himself.
Aguilar wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Yagin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Aguilar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aguilar plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
A combination from Yagin does no damage.
Aguilar throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Yagin.
Sloppy strikes from Yagin. Those never looked like landing.

Aguilar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yagin to the ground. Aguilar is now in Yagin's guard.

Yagin is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
This has been an exciting period of action!
