The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Green decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gomez, up you get!
Gomez lands with a nice body kick.

and Green counters with a single leg into guard. Gomez didn't expect that.

Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Gomez is retaining full guard.

Green rushes Gomez and presses him up against the cage.

Green is trying to trip Gomez. He has hold of a leg but Gomez is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Green persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Gomez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gomez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

and Gomez makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Green misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gomez looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Gomez moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Green looks winded!

Gomez lands a big head kick that sends Green tumbling to the mat! Gomez takes a step backwards and waves Green back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Bob Green has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Green tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Gomez makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cosmo Gomez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez lands a leg kick that knocks Green off balance momentarily.
Gomez throws a head kick that Green semi-blocks.
Gomez stuffs the takedown.
Gomez and Green are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Gomez throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Green into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Gomez knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
