PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Irl Duststorm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xander Moral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irl Duststorm has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Irl Duststorm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xander Moral!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duststorm gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Moral.
Duststorm looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Moral closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Duststorm's guard.

Moral gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Moral keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Moral feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Moral with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Moral slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Let's hope that Moral has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moral's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Moral.
Moral postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Moral stands and throws Duststorm's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Moral connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Duststorm some visible discomfort.
Moral lands a few punches from side control.
Moral taking a breather here.
Moral passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Duststorm!
Moral sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
It looks like Moral might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Moral looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Moral dominating with strikes here.
Moral has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Moral tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Moral lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Xander Moral dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Moral lands a right hook to the body.
Moral has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Moral throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Duststorm was covering up waiting for the punch and Moral finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Moral slips nicely into half guard.
Moral should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Moral looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Duststorm with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moral lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Duststorm has hold of Moral's hands but Moral slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.


Duststorm is rocked!
Moral is controlling the pace.
Oh Duststorm is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Moral seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moral takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Moral works his way into side control.
Duststorm seems a little lost for a moment, as Moral dominates the positioning.
Moral is continuing to stall.
Moral is chipping away with strikes.

Moral is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Duststorm looks calm but he's in trouble here. Moral gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Duststorm is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Moral lets go of the hold and Duststorm can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Xander Moral!
