Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andy Berdich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Silver has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andy Berdich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Nathan Silver!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Silver. No joy for Berdich on that attempt.
Berdich fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Berdich dives in and grabs Silver's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silver pushes down on Berdich's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Berdich. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silver fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Berdich manages to avoid it.
Silver tries to bum rush Berdich with a series of wild strikes but Berdich uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Berdich has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Silver.
Berdich tries for a takedown but Silver circles away easily
and Silver counters with an outside leg kick.
Silver throws a lazy right hand but Berdich sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Berdich shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Berdich was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ground and pound from Berdich seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Silver manages to work his way to half guard, despite Berdich's best efforts.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Silver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Berdich doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Berdich manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Berdich pushes down on Silver's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Berdich looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Berdich landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Berdich is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silver doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Berdich.

Berdich is keen to just control but Silver is a slippery customer.
Silver is in trouble now - Berdich has advanced to mount!

Silver tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Berdich was well out of range. Poor timing from Silver.
Silver fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Berdich shoots in and drives through. Silver sprawls well.
Berdich darts in looking for a takedown but Silver gets double underhooks and turns Berdich into the ropes.
Silver throws a sloppy head kick and Berdich moves out of range easily.

Berdich feints and as Silver raises his hands in defense, Berdich changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Silver is looking for a triangle but Berdich pushes his legs off easily.
Berdich tries to free his leg and advance position but Silver is retaining full guard.
Berdich in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silver has his foot on Berdich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Berdich works his way back into a safe position though.

Silver is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Berdich has his hands clasped together but Silver extends and breaks Berdich's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Silver.
