Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gareth Gledhill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gledhill has chosen Wrecking ball as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Roberts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gareth Gledhill!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gledhill.
Gledhill looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Roberts throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gledhill's waist but Gledhill gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roberts off to one side.
And Gledhill tries to counter it with a takedown but Roberts pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Roberts counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Roberts is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at English Top Team - THE Hybrid Gym (11 ELITE ) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Roberts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roberts gets to his feet and stands over Gledhill, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Gledhill felt that one! Roberts unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Gledhill from any more punishment!

During a confident post fight interview, Jeff Roberts thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Gareth Gledhill stepped up to the mic, saying 'ahhh fuck it, didn't wanna win anyway'.
