Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Clinton Erickson has been cut.

Morais closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Erickson's guard.

Morais feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Morais got a little sloppy there for a moment and Erickson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Morais has managed to get both his arms back between Erickson's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
It looks like Morais might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Erickson enables Morais to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Erickson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Erickson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Morais darts in and clinches Erickson up against the cage.
Erickson is trying to push Morais away but Morais has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Morais pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Morais tries to close the distance and clinch but Erickson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As Morais looks to move away, Erickson throws a big counter combo but Morais just gets out of the way.

Morais drives through with a takedown into Erickson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Erickson pushes Morais off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Morais closes the distance and pushes Erickson back into the cage.

Erickson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Erickson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Morais keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Morais takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Morais is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Erickson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Erickson!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well Morais has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
