Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oko Poli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mendo Hecatomb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hecatomb has chosen Mr. Crowley as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mendo Hecatomb!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poli darts in looking for a takedown but Hecatomb gets double underhooks and turns Poli into the cage.
Poli fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A little jabbing left from Hecatomb on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Nice sprawl there from Hecatomb as Poli shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oko Poli. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hecatomb stuffs the takedown attempt from Poli. Poli gets slowly back to his feet.
Poli gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hecatomb counters with a stiff right hand.
Poli shoots in for a takedown but Hecatomb shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Poli shoots for a double leg takedown but Hecatomb sprawls well. He's pushed Poli's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A little jabbing left from Hecatomb on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hecatomb scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hecatomb lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
An inside leg kick lands from Hecatomb.
Oko Poli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poli dives in and grabs Hecatomb's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hecatomb pushes down on Poli's head and hops out.
Hecatomb lands with a nice combination. Poli backs away looking to recover.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hecatomb's jab looks to have found its range, popping Poli under the eye.
Poli shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hecatomb counters with a nice right hand that sends Poli toppling to the canvas! Poli scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hecatomb finish him?!

Poli is rocked!
Poli shoots in but Hecatomb avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Oh Poli is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Poli takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Poli seems to have got his legs back now.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Poli.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hecatomb lands a big uppercut and Poli crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Poli looks OK. Hecatomb waves Poli back to his feet!
and Hecatomb counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Poli! He's just covering up as Hecatomb starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mendo Hecatomb! Mendo Hecatomb retains his lightweight title!
