Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damien Conner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rollo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Jiu Jitsu: Apaga Mas Não Bate as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Conner!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rollo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie with a poor takedown
and Conner counters with a two punch combo.
We've been told by Conner's head coaches at Wreckshop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gracie misses with a hook. Conner ducked under it nicely.
Conner is looking to counter punch.
Gracie clinches.
Gracie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Conner walks away with a smile on his face. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Conner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Conner.
Conner pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gracie back to the cage. Conner follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Conner looks to clinch
and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Conner is keeping the position for now.
Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Gracie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Conner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie won't allow Conner to sweep him here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gracie has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Canadian Top Team. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Conner pushes Gracie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gracie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Conner is defending well.

Gracie has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Conner!
Conner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Conner tries to get out of the position.
Conner is in all sorts of trouble here.

Gracie tries to control but Conner wriggling away.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
BOOM! Gracie connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Gracie is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Conner is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Conner flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gracie anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Conner and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gracie slips an arm under Conner chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gracie has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gracie is squeezing on Conner like an anaconda would it's prey. Conner fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rollo Gracie! Rollo Gracie retains his featherweight title!
