Lynch comes to the cage accompanied by War by Hed Pe. Wills has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Lucas Lynch had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Lucas Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Wills!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lynch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lynch keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Lynch's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Wills avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lynch.

Lynch is looking for a kimura but Wills is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lynch to get the leverage.
Lynch content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lynch stands up out of the half guard.

Lynch has closed the distance and engaged Wills in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wills is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lynch is defending well for now.

Wills jumps guard and drags Lynch to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Lynch gets to his feet. Wills looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lynch.

Wills looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Lynch makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Lucas Lynch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lynch misses with the combination.
Wills takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wills looking to score a takedown here. Lynch is defending well but Wills drives through and ends up in Lynch's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lynch holds on and takes a little breather.
Wills with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lynch pulls Wills in close to prevent any damage.

Lynch has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Wills has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Wills has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lynch clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Lynch manages to stand up with Wills still on his back. Eventually Wills drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Lynch gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Wills has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lynch uses from the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lynch is stalling in the full guard.
Lynch seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wills for as long as he can get away with.

Lynch gets to his feet - Wills follows without any prompting.
Lynch misses with the combination.

Lynch closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wills is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wills has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lynch is trying to keep an underhook but Wills manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Lynch has one foot on Wills's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lynch misses with a head kick.

Lynch drops Wills with a beautiful combination! Wills stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lynch is looking for the KO!


Wills is rocked!


It looks like Joe Wills has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lynch misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wills is still on wobbly legs! Can Lynch finish him?
Wills showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lynch.

Wills shoots in and bounces Lynch off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wills seems to have recovered his senses.
Lynch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lynch on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lynch tries to get out of the position.
Wills throws a big right hand that misses.
Wills trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Wills throws a big elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Lynch dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Joe Wills's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Wills is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Lynch just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Wills has gone limp and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lucas Lynch!
Lucas Lynch really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that On Tap (160Q) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Joe Wills spoke after the fight, saying 'Well Try Better Next Time'.
