Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Madden Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Bagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Madden Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Bagger!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rush gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Bagger gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Bagger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bagger looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bagger tries to free his leg and advance position but Rush is retaining full guard.
Rush doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Bagger with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Rush has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Bagger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bagger trying to control the position from guard on top but Rush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rush drives through and clinches with Bagger against the cage.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Rush is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bagger knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rush wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bagger, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee asks Rush politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rush prefers to stall for the moment though.

Rush is trying to get an arm triangle but Bagger is defending well.
Bagger is looking to reverse the position.
Bagger gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Bagger gets full guard.
Rush keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bagger's head.
Rush distracts Bagger with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rush passes into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rush connects with a nice short shot to Bagger's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bagger tries to clinch up but Rush circles away and keeps his distance.

Bagger wants to hit a switch here but Rush passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Bagger there!

Rush steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bagger.
Rush throws a nice looking combination but Bagger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rush darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Rush wants to work for an arm triangle but Bagger is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rush not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Bagger tries to roll over but Rush keeps him under control.
Madden Rush overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bagger is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rush wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bagger keeps working.

Rush landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Rush drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rush jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

and Rush decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bagger's guard.

Bagger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rush gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bagger is trying to control the position but Rush postures up.

Rush is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bagger throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bagger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rush swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bagger shoots for a takedown but Rush saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Madden Rush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Madden Rush. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rush has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bagger working over Rush with some ground and pound. Rush looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Rush is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bagger's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bagger's back!

Rush has got one arm under Bagger's chin. This could be trouble... Bagger trying to control the other hand but Rush gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Bagger has tapped out! The fight is over!
