PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Lagk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dante Silva!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lagk gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Lagk landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lagk slips a jab from Silva.
As Silva looks to move away, Lagk throws a big counter combo but Silva just gets out of the way.
Silva fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Silva cracks Lagk with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Silva feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lagks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Lagk closes the distance looking to clinch
and Silva counters with an outside leg kick.
Silva feints and then cracks Lagk's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lagk down.
Lagk fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
A slow jab from Lagk misses its intended target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lagk. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.

Silva is looking for the big counter here.
Lagk throws a body kick that misses.
Silva swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lagk.
Lagk misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Silva does no damage.
Lagk fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Silva checks it well.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lagk circles away quickly and effectively.
Lagk is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.

No joy there for Lagk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lagk manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Silva on his heels. He'll look to pass Silva's guard now, I'm sure.

Lagk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Lagk stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lagk throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The ground and pound from Lagk seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Lagk sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Silva is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Lagk tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Silva regains half guard, as Lagk was trying to land strikes.
Lagk winds up and cracks Silva with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lagk pulls his head out easily.
Lagk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lagk takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Lagk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lagk is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.

A close round but Dante Silva will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lagk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lagk is working Silva over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lagk loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lagk wants to stand but Silva is controlling his posture from full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lagk holds on and takes a little breather.

Lagk has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Lagk will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Lagk takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Lagk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
