With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Iain Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk throws a body punch but Jenkins moves out of range.
Jenkins doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Sherk counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Sherk is trying to trip Jenkins. He has hold of a leg but Jenkins is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sherk persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Sherk working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jenkins's head.
Sherk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jenkins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sherk cracks Jenkins with a solid left hand.
Sherk has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jenkins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jenkins is trying to control the position but Sherk postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sherk lands a couple of elbows.
Jenkins can't keep his opponent in guard - Sherk advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Sherk looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Jenkins is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sherk scores with a couple of nice shots.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jenkins takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jenkins takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Sherk in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Sherk in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Sherk looks up at the clock and then as Jenkins takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sherk smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Sherk working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Jenkins is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Sherk in side control lands a decent elbow.
Sherk scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jenkins to see if he's OK.

Jenkins is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sherk lands a nice short elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sherk lands a big elbow - Jenkins is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Sherk!
