Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maynard Atkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ken Qi!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atkinson scores with a hook to the body. Qi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ken Qi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Qi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Qi has his takedown stuffed
and Atkinson counters with a right hand to the body.
Qi tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Atkinson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Qi is wriggling around but Atkinson manages to pass to half guard.

Qi wants to control but Atkinson is keeping busy.

Atkinson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Atkinson circles away from the clinch attempt
and Qi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Atkinson drives through and clinches with Qi against the cage.
Qi wants a takedown but no success here.
Qi blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Qi.
Atkinson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Qi lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

It looks like Maynard Atkinson has been cut.
Qi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Atkinson smiles and moves away.
Maynard Atkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Qi.
Qi throws a head kick that Atkinson semi-blocks.
Qi tries for a takedown but Atkinson circles away easily
and Atkinson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Atkinson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Qi on his heels. He'll look to pass Qi's guard now, I'm sure.
Atkinson is standing up over Qi. Qi looks to escape but Atkinson dives into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Qi is trying to work for a sweep but Atkinson has mounted him!

Atkinson has got one arm under Qi's chin. This could be trouble... Qi trying to control the other hand but Atkinson gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Qi has tapped out! The fight is over!
