Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dieter Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dieter Schmidt told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Dirt!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dieter Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dirt fails with a takedown attempt.
Schmidt throws out a powerful jab.
Dirt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dirt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schmidt as he avoids it easily.
Schmidt stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Dirt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dirt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schmidt pinned against the cage. Schmidt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dirt takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Dirt shoots for a double leg takedown but Schmidt sprawls well. He's pushed Dirt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dirt looks up at the clock. Bad move! Schmidt lands a right hand from hell, dropping Dirt. Schmidt pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dieter Schmidt!
