Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Rodrigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannibal Barca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barca has chosen Carthage as his entrance music. Hannibal Barca has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pablo Rodrigo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hannibal Barca!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Barca.
Rodrigo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barca.
It looked like Rodrigo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Nice shot by Barca.
Rodrigo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Pablo Rodrigo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barca with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rodrigo to score with a decent uppercut.
Rodrigo swings for the body but Barca moves out of range.
And Barca tries to counter it with a takedown but Rodrigo pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Rodrigo throws a push kick but Barca slaps the foot to one side.

and Barca counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barca.
Rodrigo can't keep his opponent in guard - Barca advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Barca working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Rodrigo scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Barca manages to mount him!

Barca wants to finish this one by submission but Rodrigo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Barca.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rodrigo tries to hold on but Barca postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodrigo is in a horrible position here. Barca smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Barca scoring with strikes but Rodrigo is staying in there.
BOOM! Barca connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Rodrigo is rocked!

It looks like Pablo Rodrigo has been cut.

Barca looking to secure an arm triangle but Rodrigo defends it well.

Rodrigo has left one of his arms exposed and Barca doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Rodrigo screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
