Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sleepy Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yamuza Akimocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yamuza Akimocha!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akimocha fails with the takedown.
Floyd throws a lazy right hand but Akimocha sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Akimocha will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Yamuza Akimocha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Floyd darts in and clinches Akimocha up against the cage.

Floyd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Akimocha is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Floyd lands a nice shot to the body.
Floyd drops Akimocha with a left right combo! Floyd follows him down to the ground into side control.

Akimocha is rocked!

It looks like Yamuza Akimocha has been cut.

Floyd stands up and beckons Akimocha to his feet.
Akimocha is still on wobbly legs! Can Floyd finish him?
Akimocha closes the distance but Floyd moves to the side
and Floyd counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Akimocha thinking.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A slow jab from Akimocha misses its intended target.
Akimocha seems to have recovered his senses.
Floyd lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Akimocha tries to clinch but Floyd moves away
and Floyd cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Akimocha bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Floyd's head.
Akimocha fails with the takedown
and Floyd counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sleepy Floyd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yamuza Akimocha.
Akimocha looks gassed!

Floyd closes the distance and clinches.

Floyd breaks the clinch.
Akimocha shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Floyd counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Floyd.

Floyd manages to break the clinch.
Floyd scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Akimocha doesn't seem bothered though.
Akimocha is trying desperately to land a takedown but Floyd is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Akimocha.

Floyd takes the fight into the clinch.

Floyd breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Floyd misses the shot to the body.
Floyd misses with a two punch combination.
Floyd keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Akimocha takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Floyd lands a jab to Akimocha's midsection.
Akimocha takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Akimocha takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Floyd lands a nice shot to the body.

Floyd fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Akimocha, pushing him back against the cage.

Floyd breaks from the clinch.
Akimocha doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Floyd counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Akimocha! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
